I'm even more excited to exist able to share my tutorial on how I made a Fabric carpet, but commencement allow me tell you a niggling bit nearly my blog. I started writing my weblog in October 2010 and I enjoy every bit of it then very much. If I dont practice some kind of creative project each day to share during the week I become into withdrawal. I savor sharing my cheap furniture renovations, room makeovers, craft projects and sewing. More important I want my creativeness to inspire others.

Now lets talk near my fabric carpeting. I love rugs with fun designs but they are but to costly and I knew I could paint a rug since I already did, but I wanted something soft for our living room and knew there had to be a way I could make my own without it beingness to hard. I then searched on Google for fabric rugs and found this Chevron textile carpet by High heel foot in the door. So I knew information technology was possible.

When I constitute this fun zebra print upholstery cloth at a disbelieve fabric store I knew this would be perfect for a rug and for $6.99 a yard it was.

On my strip of driblet material I used glue to fold about half a inch of it over to brand a neat line, I exercise this on both sides with gum and then add more glue to the strip and place the rug on top of half of the strip and and add together more glue and fold the other half of the strip on peak of the rug.

It doesn't accept a lot of time, and it gives it a nice make clean border

The corners were a little hard for me and I wish I did it differently just didn't figure that out till after

I wasn't going to take information technology apart o set up it, your eyes look at the zebra print more.

I should accept folded them into triangles to brand them neater.

Okay so once I accept my edging complete I take it to the sewing machine, I used heavy duty thread and needles is a must to go through the layers.

This is a basic stitch and easy to do.

I ended upwards doing this for my corners.

To brand sure the rug and the canvas stays together in the middle I sewed small knots through out. I used the same thread and a curved needle.

And so I was done!

And very proud nigh my new rug I rapidly moved my furniture and placed it in the living room.

 Is was about a half of a days project (in between picking kids upwards) and I'grand so thrilled with it. It volition await even improve on top of hardwood floors someday.

I didn't need a anti skid because its on a carpeting, simply if you lot make your own carpeting and need 1 they are cheap at Ikea.

What it cost for me?

Fabric- $27.96 for 4 yards at $6.99 a yard

Canvas Drop-cloth- about 10.00

extra driblet cloth for edging-already had

fabric glue-6.00

everything else I already had so it was

total-

$50.96
